Legendary tabla maestro Zakir Hussain died on December 16 at 73 due to complications from pulmonary fibrosis. A four-time Grammy winner, he was the son of renowned tabla player Alla Rakha.













Veteran actor Atul Parchure, known for his comedic roles, passed away 14 October 14 at 57 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He had a career spanning Marathi, and Hindi films and TV, with notable works like Phir Hera Pheri and Liger.













Renowned fashion designer Rohit Bal passed away on November 1 at 63. Known for merging Indian heritage with contemporary style, he dressed many celebrities and had stores across India, the Middle East, and Europe.













Ghazal legend Pankaj Udhas died on February 26 at 72 after a prolonged illness. Known for hits like Chitthi Aayi Hai and Jeeyein To Jeeyein Kaise, he was a recipient of the Padma Shri in 2006.
