Ekta Kapoor took to her Instagram handle on Tuesday to remember Sushant Singh Rajput on the occasion of his birth anniversary. She shared a throwback video of Sushant from their superhit show ‘Pavitra Rishta’. The clip shared a glimpse of the wedding sequence of Archana and Manav from the show and also featured Ankita Lokhande.
In the caption of her post, Ekta wrote, “Nostalgia emotions n memories come in waves and maybe today is one such day…… happy birthday, where ever you are shine, smile, remember you r loved!” Check it out here:
Pavitra Rishta aired on Zee TV from 2009 to 2014. While Ankita used to play the role of Archana in Pavitra Rishta, Sushant Singh Rajput essayed the role of Manav. Their chemistry as Archana and Manav respectively was widely loved by all. The two also dated for some time during the show but later parted ways.
In June last year, Ankita Lokhande also penned down a heartwarming note while talking about her debut show Pavitra Rishta, when she also remembered SSR. “My journey wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t have Sushant’s support. I didn’t even know how to act when I started Pavitra Rishta. He taught me, and I will always be thankful for him. The show started a new kind of storytelling. Hindi television par Marathi culture ko dikhaya. Isse pehle kabhi koi aisa show aaya nahi tha. People could resonate with the show because of the innocence the show and the people involved in it had,” she wrote.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020. While some suspected to be a case of death by suicide, others had alleged foul play. His sister has been fighting for justice ever since. Later in June, on the occasion of the actor’s death anniversary, she “pleaded” authorities to probe what happened on June 14, 2020, and shared that she feels like giving up now.
