In a unique and creative endeavour to address this critical issue of air pollution in Delhi, musicians Nibhay Garg and Vasu Sharma have decided to use their musical prowess in a manner that engages and entertains the audiences. The duo collaborated to present a humorous twist on the classic qawwali Tumhe Dillagi Bhool Jani Padegi.
Shared on the platform X (formerly known as Twitter) by the musicians Nibhay Garg and Vasu Sharma, the video featured the duo, sitting with different musical equipment and was heard singing the qawwali. Aptly titled Khansi Bani Qawwali, this rendition aimed to entertain while also drawing attention to the severe air quality challenges faced by the residents of the Indian capital. The two musicians employed satire to address the issue, incorporating witty lines such as “Yaha Breathing Nahi Aasan, Ek Smog ka Dariya Hai Aur Doob k Jana Hai ” in their composition.

Accompanying the music video, one of the musicians wrote, “Balgumgarh Blues: A pollution jingle and satire The dense smog and polluted air, prevalent even before Diwali and firecracker celebrations, highlight the significant contribution of vehicular emissions, industries, road dust, concrete batching, and paddy straw burning. The cherished essence of Diwali seems permanently tarnished. The escalating political discourse on pollution exacerbates each year, with a pervasive sense of apathy prevailing, leaving us feeling powerless in the face of this formidable threat. The video was posted and the song was made before Diwali. Apart from all kinds of politics around us we all are suffering.”
As soon as the clip surfaced on the internet, social media users swamped the comment section with numerous reactions. Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “That’s why I cancelled my plan to visit Delhi.” Another commented, “Wah kya baat hai.”
